To help make a different rabāba, a tumbura devotee normally takes two picket bowls (of proper condition and content), applies incense to them, and sacrifices pigeons. The bowls will be buried for 40 days, and friends would arrive and slumber on the bottom in the vicinity of where by they were buried. The new rabābas (made out of the buried bowls)
